Chris Trant

Head of US Agriculture

Chris started his career in the commodity industry as a college intern at Daniels Trading. After graduating from Miami University (OH) with a degree in International Business and History, he worked in various commercial roles with Bunge North America, Green Plains, and Informa / HIS Markit-S&P Global prior to Hedgepoint. Chris lives and works in Chicago and enjoys geopolitical books, cooking Italian food, and running along the lakefront.

Andy Ryan

Relationship Manager

Andy Ryan graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1991.  He then moved to Chicago and worked on the CME for eight years as an institutional broker of interest rate products.  In 2000, he moved back to his hometown of Memphis, TN, joining Dunavant Commodity Corporation to begin his new career in cotton price risk management.  After leaving Dunavant in 2006, he moved to Nashville, TN where he has worked for several companies helping cotton producers, mills, and merchants hedge their price risk.  Andy now works for Hedgepoint Global Markets, where his focus is on helping customers with bespoke OTC options and structures for their commercial hedging needs.

Matthew Connelly

Relationship Manager

After graduating from St. Mary’s University with a Degree in Finance, he started working at the CME and eventually became a member of the exchange for over 30 years. He advised/brokered in the ag space for several large multinational corporations as well as hedge funds and CTA’s. He left the trading floor in 2015 and became a grain & energy analyst for the highly regarded Hightower Report. In 2019 he joined Marex Solutions OTC division, starting the US producer risk management operation. In 2021 he joined Hedgepoint Global Markets handling all agricultural/livestock OTC risk management strategies.

Zane Roubal

Relationship Manager

Born and raised in Nebraska, Zane graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics and a focus in International Trade from the University of Nebraska. Zane began his career as a Risk Management Advisor and Market Analyst at FuturesOne in Lincoln before joining the team at Hwdgepoint. With his focus being on agriculture commodities, he wanted to expand his knowledge within the industry, and he became a CFA Charterholder in 2022. In his downtime, you’ll find Zane on the golf course, reading anything about history and finance, or exploring his new city of Chicago with his wife.

Vitor Fernandes

Relationship Manager

Vitor was born and raised into a family of farmers in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. An Agricultural Engineer, he moved to the US to obtain a Master’s in Applied Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after which he joined Hedgepoint’s Ags desk. In his free time, you’ll find him at the gym, at the lake, or reading about his favorite subjects of finance and history.
